Your resume should follow these guidelines

  • Content should be in bullet form – avoid paragraphs
  • Use 8.5” x 11” white paper – good quality paper
  • Use a standard font (e.g. Arial or Times Roman)
  • Ensure the wording is simple and straightforward
  • Avoid using jargon or slang, as well as artwork or pictures
  • Ensure that keywords in the job description are bolded
  • Maintain a consistent font throughout
  • It is very important to proofread for spelling and grammar

Do NOT include personal information such as:

  • Social Insurance Number or Passport number
  • Marital Status
  • Date of Birth
  • Religion or Nationality
  • Height, Weight, Health

The content of your resume should showcase your job accomplishments and skills, as well as your experience and success.  This is your chance to sell yourself.
