Job description:
Scope of Position:
Increase company profitability by providing manufacturing departments with well maintained equipment, while ensuring quality and ability to meet production requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
•    Perform all maintenance and repair work in either the plant or grounds.
•    Perform repairs and maintenance of production and other equipment.
•    Repair and upgrade assembly fixtures and tooling, and manufacturing of spare tooling components.
•    Maintain tooling spare parts and components inventory at appropriate levels. Inform the tool crib attendant of low levels or shortage of parts or components in stock.
•    Maintain up to date documentation of equipment. This includes documenting changes and alterations to fixtures and their components.
•    Solve maintenance related problems with minimal interruption to production.
•    Actively participate in the Preventative Maintenance Program and down time reduction process. This includes following the PMP schedule and completing PMP checklists.
•    Prepare a list of problems encountered during the shift and other necessary reports as requested.
•    Document all work orders in MVP daily.
•    Participate in the development and implementation of the latest technologies to improve productivity and/or quality.
•    Participate in all training to upgrade skills and knowledge to meet changing technologies customer, government and health and safety requirements.
•    Make recommendations to improve equipment efficiency and reduce costs. This includes manufacturing, repairs and installations of parts, components, services, and equipment.
•    Advise the Welding Manager of any potential problems and offer solutions.
•    Actively participate in the preparation of safety and operation procedures.
•    Ensure and maintain clear and safe working conditions.
•    Assist in the training and development of new hires and apprentices.

Basic Requirements:
•    Must be a licensed toolmaker.
•    Minimum of 5 years of experience as a toolmaker.
•    Full understanding of press shop safety guidelines and rules.
•    High level of experience with all machine shop equipment and mechanical systems.
•    Experience in MIG, TIG, and stick welding.
•    Good knowledge of manufacturing equipment and processes.
•    Good knowledge of fixture building.
•    Well versed in industrial machine repair.
•    Strong communication skills and problem-solving ability.
