Description:Avionics Engineer                   

Location:   Savannah, GA 
Salary:  $120 USD/hour – based on experience  
Contract Duration: 1 Year + 

Unique Skills:
•    Experience with integration of avionics systems is required
•    Understanding of DO-178 and DO-254 process is required
•    System integration lab and/or aircraft functional testing experience is required
•    Able to analyze and develop root cause of system functional issues identified in a test lab environment and flight test is required
•    Experience with IBM DOORS, or equivalent, is desired
•    Experience with the FAA (Part 25) and EASA certification is desired
•    First Shift

Experience/Education:
•    Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or a related curriculum required or equivalent combination of appropriate education/experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job
•    Advanced degree in engineering, or related curriculum preferred
•    15+ years specific technical discipline with Bachelors
•    Experience credit considered for related adv degrees limited to 2 yrs for Masters, 4 yrs PhD in fields applicable to job

Position Purpose:
Applies specialized engineering knowledge to broad and complex engineering problems. Works on engineering projects containing significant and uniquely challenging problems requiring highly innovative solutions

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1.    Responsible for an engineering project; successful completion requires the use of innovative technical advances, methods and processes
2.    Applies solutions that are highly innovative and sets new precedence for engineering function and industry
3.    Introduces and champions new technologies for Gulfstream aircraft and company processes
4.    Actively promotes R&D initiatives that will meet or further Gulfstream objectives
5.    Acts independently to conduct technical research, develop new methods and/or procedures to complete complex assignments
6.    Is consulted extensively by associates and others with a high degree of reliance placed on the incumbent scientific interpretations and advice
7.    Assignment requires approval of Engineering Promo Review Board including business justification
