Location: Ajax, ON
Term: 5 week contract (extendable)
Shift: Monday – Thursday 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, Friday 7:30 am – 12:30 pm
Pay Rate: $35.08 per hour (based on experience)
Job Summary:
• Immediate requirement for a Facilities/Maintenance individual to provide building maintenance services for the upkeep of the building, including general repairs, maintenance work and completion of specific renovations projects
• Assignment length – 5 weeks
• 100% on site
Responsibilities:
• Under general supervision, performs work related to the operation and maintenance of company facility
• Performs manual duties involving simple repairs, service and maintenance work to plant equipment and properties
• Operates all equipment normally used in the ongoing maintenance of facilities and/or other development programs in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act
• May be required to clears pathways of snow and salt as necessary to ensure safety conducting minor repairs to physical resources and portable assets
• Renovation projects include but not limited to painting, installation of floor and carpets, drywall work, installation of doors, and any other repairs as necessary
Qualifications:
• A minimum of three (3) years related Facilities building maintenance experience required
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills – able to interact effectively at all levels or the organization
• Strong customer service skills both with internal and external clients/suppliers
• Forklift License and Articulation Aerial, Platform Aerial Certificate, CPR/First Aid, Confined Space an asset
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment with tight deadlines
• Ability to coordinate many activities concurrently
• Ability to handle emergency and/or crisis situations effectively and efficiently
• Meeting the demands of office and plant layout changes
• Working knowledge of HVAC, Energy Management, Natural Gas, Plumbing and Electrical systems maintenance and operation
• Liaise with Company Contractors including: Cleaners, Security Providers, Waste haulers, Grounds Maintenance, Plumbing and Electrical, Building trades, Furniture suppliers, and others
• Familiarity with Controlled Goods Program
• Demonstrate and maintain a working knowledge of Ontario Building Code requirements, industry standards, Company policies and procedures, Workplace Hazardous Material Information Systems, Occupational Health & Safety Act
• Ability to utilize relevant computer software programs, including internal systems
