Description:Machinist 

Location: Concord, ON
Term: Full-time, Permanent
Pay Rate: $25 – $32 per hour (range will be depending on experience)

Job Summary: 
The role of Machinist involves operating metalworking, and milling, machines designed for repetitive machining work, to cut and form metal into component parts or products.

Key Responsibilities:
•    Operates and maintains equipment and milling machines
•    Reviews drawings, instructions, blueprints or samples to ensure accurate production
•    Takes precise measurements for cutting or shaping
•    In depth knowledge of the properties of metal and other materials
•    Selects appropriate machines and settings for a given task
•    Plans proper sequence of tasks to complete the assignment
•    Monitors production, adjusting feed and other settings as necessary
•    Maintains inventory of completed products
•    Checks output for quality assurance and documents or discards defects
•    Identifies need for and performs machine maintenance and minor repairs
•    Maintains a safe and clean workstation

Qualifications:
•    High school diploma required; apprenticeship or vocational training preferred
•    Ability to read and understand blueprints and manuals
•    Proficient in math
•    Ability to use standard hand and machining tools.
•    Strong focus on tasks assigned and attention to detail.
•    Basic computer skills.
