Description:Financial Analyst – Tax Specialization 

Location: Ajax, ON   
Term: 12 month contract (extendable) 
Shift: Monday to Thursday 7 am to 4:30 pm, Fridays 7 am to 12:30 pm    
Hybrid: Flexible days
Pay Rate: $37 – $42 per hour (based on experience)  

Responsibilities: 

TAXATION & TRANSFER PRICING
•    Main point of contact and coordinator with internal and external supports in preparing and reviewing Canadian corporate income tax returns
•    Manage tax consultants that includes gathering data, conducting analysis, ensuring deadlines are met, validating fees and reviewing final deliverables accuracy for:
•    SRED
•    Commodity Taxes
•    Quebec Investment Credit
•    Compute, prepare and book Canadian income tax installments/remittances
•    Manage the updating, preparation and booking of the tax provisions which involve researching any changes in legislation and its applicableness to SLS Canada
•    Review, analyze and respond to communications from various tax authorities
•    Manage and support income tax and sales tax audits from in Canada
•    Provide advice to accounting and functions on sales tax, income tax, and withholding tax queries
•    Assist accounting team on intercompany transactions, reconciliations etc.
•    Monitor legal entity result for transfer pricing compliance and ensure the transfer pricing documentation is updated annually

INTERNAL CONTROLS
•    Lead internal control campaigns with coordination between all Toronto functions and Montreal Support
•    Accountable for site to meet IC deadlines and quality of testing
•    Support integration with MON and harmonization of controls between Toronto / Montreal 
•    Liaise with IC support in Mexico and France ensuring changes in policies are properly reflected in local policies, best practices are deployed and raising any possible non-compliance for possible solutions or corrections

MANAGEMENT OF FINANCIAL ANALYST & MISC AD HOC
•    Supervisor day to day operations of Financial Analyst
•    Responsible for output and quality of work by the analyst
•    Other Special Projects/Functions as required by finance

Qualifications:
•    University degree and Professional accounting designation
•    7+ years of experience with minimum 3-5 years in accounting/audit firm and balance preferably in a manufacturing environment
•    Education and/or Certifications: Qualified Accountant CPA, CA
•    Specialized Knowledge: Corporate taxation, Internal Controls
•    Strong analytical skills
•    Strong proven problem-solving skills
•    Taxation and audit experience in a manufacturing environment
•    Experience in Internal Controls and experience in auditing compliance to internal controls
•    Proven Team Player with excellent oral and written communication skills
•    Self-starter, strong initiative, enthusiastic, rigorous
•    Works well under pressure and able to meet tight deadlines
•    Strong computer skills in M365, understand AI impacts on finance/accounting; exposure to SAP is an asset
•    Well-developed analytical and research skills, together with attention to detail
•    Communication Skills – both internal and external: regular email and verbal communication
