Description:Can-Tech Services is currently looking for people with experience working as Sewing Machine Operator. 

This position in North York located between Keele and Dufferin south of Steeles on a straight day shift. Previous experience is needed as a sewing machine operator being from the furniture industry is an asset but not required.

Day Shift: *Monday to Friday – 7:30 am to 4:30 pm

Pay Rate: *$18.00 to start.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY:
Responsible for sewing fabric/leather chair covers.

SPECIFIC DUTIES OR TASKS:

* Sewing fabric and leather covers for chairs.
* Match pieces of cut fabric together and sew evenly to produce proper cover.
* Follow written instructions.

SKILLS REQUIREMENT:

* Ability to verify fabric or leather quantity requirements as per work order instructions.
* Ability to operate single and double stitch sewing machine.
* Ability to thread sewing machine and make simple adjustments.
* Experience operating Pfaff and Juki sewing machines an asset
* Experience doing upholstery sewing an asset but Not required
* Experiencing cutting fabric would also be a bonus.
