Location: Mississauga, ON
Shift: Afternoon
Pay Rate: $40 + per hour depending on experience

Permanent Position

Principle Responsibilities:
•    Read and interpret diagrams and schematic drawings, and operation and product-related reference charts and tables to determine work procedures
•    Select mechanical measuring, check and layout tools, devise and perform measuring, check and layout operations
•    Perform mechanical installations, repairs, and maintenance on machinery and mechanical equipment, including pumps, compressors, hydraulic systems, conveyors etc. according to work orders
•    Conduct inspections and troubleshooting on machinery and equipment to detect and diagnose irregularities and malfunctions
•    Perform preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment to identify and address potential issues to minimize downtime
•    Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery
•    Perform upgrades, retrofits, and modifications to enhance performance, reliability, and efficiency of machines and equipment
•    Fabricate parts and foundations required during overhaul, maintenance, or set-up of machinery by operating machine tools such as lathes, grinders, mills and welding machines
•    Operate material handling devices (Forklift, hoists, cranes) to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up, and repair of machinery
•    Report all maintenance and machine safety issues and collaborate with different departments to investigate solutions
•    Adhere to all safety and housekeeping protocols, procedures, and regulations to maintain a safe working environment

Qualifications:
•    Education: Post -Secondary Education or Equivalent
•    443A Certified with Skilled Trades Ontario is an asset
•    Minimum 3 years’ experience as a millwright in an industrial manufacturing environment
•    Knowledge of the plastic characteristics and plastics industry is preferred.
•    Knowledge of extrusion manufacturing processes is preferred.
•    Knowledge of extrusion equipment and machinery related to plastics is preferred.
•    Strong mechanical knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
•    Ability to make comprehensive decisions and problem solve
•    Physically capable of performing essential duties of the job
•    Able to read, write, understand and communicate effectively in English
•    Able to read and understand schematics and drawings associated with trade
•    Capable of lifting up to 40 lbs as applicable
•    Able to work in extremely fast paced environment with a result oriented approach
•    Able to work with minimal supervision and understand instructions quickly
•    Able to work in non-climate controlled conditions
