Description:Energy Correspondent 

Location: Carson, CA    
Term: Contract Assignment – 6 months (extendable)
Shift: Monday to Friday – 6:30 am to 3:30 pm
Pay Rate: $30 per hour (based on experience)  

Job Summary: 
•    We are seeking a determined and analytical Energy Correspondent to cover developments across the global energy sector
•    This role blends technical insight with investigative reporting, requiring someone who can translate complex industry data, policies, and innovations into clear, engaging stories for a broad audience
•    The ideal candidate brings an engineering or project management background and has a proven ability to synthesize technical information, work cross-functionally, and deliver well-structured insights on topics ranging from renewable energy to oil & gas, nuclear, and emerging technologies

Responsibilities: 
•    Research, analyze, and report on global energy developments, including renewable projects, fossil fuel markets, nuclear initiatives, policy shifts, and emerging clean technologies
•    Develop and maintain industry contacts across utilities, regulators, companies, and research institutions
•    Translate complex engineering, supply chain, and project management data into accurate and accessible articles, reports, and briefings
•    Track and interpret production schedules, project timelines, and supply-demand dynamics within the energy sector
•    Monitor and assess global energy capacity, demand, and infrastructure developments, and communicate implications for markets and policy
•    Prepare in-depth reports, feature articles, and news briefs under tight deadlines
•    Collaborate with editorial teams to ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency across all publications
•    Represent the organization at conferences, press briefings, and stakeholder meetings

Qualifications:
•    Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Energy Systems, Chemical Engineering, or related field. Advanced degree a plus
•    Strong analytical skills with experience in quality, production, or project management within engineering or energy-related industries
•    Ability to interpret technical documents, audits, and compliance frameworks (ISO, AS9100, safety/environmental standards)
•    Excellent writing and communication skills; able to craft stories for both technical and non-technical audiences
•    Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Project software) and strong organizational skills
•    Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively across diverse teams
•    Strong problem-solving mindset, able to apply structured approaches (8D, 5WHY, Ishikawa, Pareto) to investigative reporting
•    Fluency in English required; additional languages (e.g., French) highly desirable

Preferred Experience:
•    Background in energy, aerospace, manufacturing, or industrial project management
•    Experience coordinating audits, certifications, or compliance reviews in technical fields
•    International exposure (e.g., working across U.S. and European markets)
•    Familiarity with dismantling, nuclear safety, renewable energy integration, or energy policy
