Can-Tech Services is currently looking for Candidates for a Full-Time position located in the North York Area (Dufferin and Steeles) to work as a TIG Welder on Afternoon Shift.

Shift Time:

Afternoon Shift: Monday – Thursday 4:30pm – 2am, Friday 3:30pm – 12:30am

Pay rate: $21 – $26 (Depending on Experience) (Shift Premiums for Afternoons applicable) 

Job Summary:  Welder

The Welder is responsible for performing welding operations to assemble metal components and parts in accordance with engineering drawings, blueprints, and project specifications. This position requires proficiency in various welding techniques, a keen eye for detail, and a strong understanding of safety procedures to ensure high-quality welds and a safe work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
•    Perform MIG, welding processes to assemble and fabricate metal parts and structures.
•    Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders to understand project specifications, including measurements, materials, and welding techniques required.
•    Set up and adjust welding machines, selecting appropriate settings and materials for each job.
•    Inspect welds for quality and integrity, ensuring they meet industry standards and project requirements.
•    Grind, sand, or clean welded areas to ensure smoothness, uniformity, and quality.
•    Collaborate with other team members, including fabricators and machine operators, to ensure production goals are met.
•    Maintain and troubleshoot welding equipment to ensure optimal performance.
•    Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
•    Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including proper disposal of waste and excess materials.
•    Measure and cut metal pieces using tools such as saws, grinders, and torches as needed.
•    Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of welding tools and equipment.
•    Record work completed, material usage, and any defects or quality issues.
•    Assist with the setup and assembly of fixtures, jigs, and other tools necessary for welding operations.
•    Work with supervisors to assess the progress of projects and meet deadlines.
