Description:Can-Tech Services is currently looking for Candidates for a Full-Time position located in the Woodbridge (Weston Roads & Steels) area to work as Maintenance Technician on Nights. 

Job Title: Maintenance Technician 

Shift- Nights Shift.- (Sunday – Wednesday)  – 9pm- 7:30am

Pay rate: $22/hr. 

Job type- Temporary to Permanent 

Summary of the position:

We are looking for a thorough Maintenance Technician to undertake the responsibility to preserve the good condition and functionality of the premises. A Maintenance Technician is a thorough professional with a practical mind and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will be able to work autonomously and responsibly by observing all health and safety guidelines. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring that all the  Lines are running and keeping up with the 24 /7 production schedule.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct scheduled inspections and maintenance on equipment, machinery, and building systems to prevent breakdowns.
  • Lubricate, clean, and service machinery and facility systems.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues; diagnose root causes and execute repairs.
  • Respond promptly to equipment or system failures and restore functionality with minimal downtime.
  • Repair or replace malfunctioning components or systems.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of tools, parts, and supplies; ensure stock is updated in MaintainX.
  • Clean, inspect, and organize tools and equipment to guarantee readiness and safety.
  • Create, manage, and close work orders in MaintainX before starting tasks.
  • Log all maintenance actions, parts used, labor time, and observations
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental guidelines
  • Any other duties as instructed by their supervisor

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills for coordinating with supervisors and other departments.
  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician
  • Proven experience in preventive and corrective maintenance across mechanical systems.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods of manufacturing equipment
  • Experience with the use of hand tools including but not limited to welding
  • Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills
  • Good physical condition and strength
  • Working for 12 hours standing and working on the pultrusion lines
  • Must be able to lift between 20 and 40 lbs as required during their shift
  • Must be able to kneel, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill tasks
  • Requires grasping, pulling, pushing, standing, walking, and repetitive motions
  • Willing to work a rotating work schedule
