Can-Tech Services is looking for a Strategic Sourcing Specialist for one of our reputable Manufacturing clients for their facility in the Vaughan area.
Our client is a leading manufacturer that develops customized high-performance HVAC systems for vehicles and machinery in construction, agriculture, forestry, mining, material handling and utility vehicle industries, making the driest or wettest surroundings and the most extreme hot or cold weather unnoticeable. Their premium products are relied upon to provide a comfortable climate, exceeding our customers’ expectations.
We are seeking a results-driven Strategic Sourcing Specialist to join our team in a dynamic, engineered product manufacturing environment. This role will be instrumental in optimizing the sourcing and procurement of materials, components, and services critically used in our high-performance heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems for a variety of off-road vehicles, buses and machinery.
The ideal candidate will combine strong analytical abilities, deep market insight and supplier relationship
management skills to deliver cost savings, improve supplier performance, and support strategic business goals. The candidate should have strong experience in category management, strategic sourcing, and supplier negotiations within the HVAC or related industrial sectors.
Position: Strategic Sourcing Specialist.
Position Type: Permanent/Full-Time (Monday to Friday, 8-4.30pm).
Pay: $90,000 – $105,000 annually.
Location: Vaughan, ON

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement sourcing strategies for assigned categories to drive cost reduction, quality improvement, and supplier performance.

Lead supplier identification, evaluation, negotiation, and selection processes for new and existing products.

Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Finance to define sourcing requirements and ensure alignment with business needs.

Analyze market trends, pricing, and supplier performance to inform strategic decisions.

Negotiate long-term agreements and contracts that provide stable supply, competitive pricing, and favorable terms.

Mitigate risks in the supply chain through supplier diversification, contingency planning, and proactive risk assessments.

Manage supplier relationships, conduct regular performance reviews, and implement improvement initiatives.

Maintain accurate procurement and supplier data within ERP/MRP systems.

Monitor and report on key metrics such as cost savings, supplier on-time delivery, and quality performance.

Support new product introduction (NPI) by sourcing components and materials early in the development process.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, engineering, or a related field.

2-5 years of experience in strategic sourcing or procurement, preferably within a manufacturing or engineered product environment.

Strong knowledge of sourcing methodologies, contract negotiation, and supplier management.

Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP experience is an asset) and sourcing tools.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

Experience with cost breakdown analysis, total cost of ownership (TCO), and supplier scorecards is a plus.

Understanding engineering drawings and technical specifications is desirable.

Experience in global sourcing and managing international suppliers.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
CPSM, CPM, or APICS certification is a plus.
