Description:Stockroom Clerk 

Location: Van Nuys, CA    
Term: 6 month contract position (extendable) 
Shift: Monday to Friday – 6 am to 2:30 pm
Pay Rate: $18 – $20 per hour (based on experience)  

Job Summary: 
Receives, stores, and issues equipment, material, supplies, merchandise, foodstuffs, or tools, and compiles stock records in stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities: 
•    Counts, sorts, or weighs incoming articles to verify receipt of items on requisition or invoices
•    Stores articles in bins, on floor, or on shelves, according to identifying information such as style, size, or type of material
•    Fills orders or issues supplies from stock
•    Prepares periodic, special, or perpetual inventory of stock
•    Requisitions articles to fill incoming orders
•    Compiles reports on use of stock handling equipment, adjustments of inventory counts and stock records, spoilage of or damage to stock, location changes
•    Marks identifying codes, figures, or letters on articles
•    Distributes stock among production workers, keeping records of material issued
•    Makes adjustments or repairs to articles carried in stock
•    Determines methods of storage, identification, and stock location, considering temperature, humidity, height and weight limits, turnover, floor loading capacities, and required space
•    Cuts stock to size to fill order
•    Moves or transports material or supplies to other departments
•    Maintains inventory and other stock records

c) Education and/or Experience
•    Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 1 year of experience in the field or in a related area

d) Communication Skills
•    Good oral and written communication skills essential for interaction with both internal and external customers
•    Must be able to read, write and understand English fluently
•    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form

e) Physical Demands
•    Must be able to stand and/or sit for up to eight hours, set, stoop and lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
