Description:Material Handler I
Location: Marysville, WA
Term: 9 month contract position (extendable)
Shift: First Shift – Monday to Friday, 6 am to 2:30 pm
Pay Rate: $20 per hour (based on experience)
Job Summary:
• The duties of this job are to ensure that all of the materials used in the production of panels are controlled, verified and delivered to the production team in a timely manner as to support on time delivery to our plan dates
• Material handlers are also responsible for the department hazardous waste control and disposition
Responsibilities:
• Job duties include but are not limited to:
• Verify, withdraw and deliver materials to the production line in a timely manner to support the production schedule board
• Ensure that materials are FIFO, track exposure units on temperature sensitive materials
• Must be able to ensure accurate inventory for the department
• Perform cycle counting of highly used materials
• Other duties include receiving and storing production materials, palletizing materials or product, etc.
• Handle the disposal of hazardous waste materials for the department
• Forklift operation is required (training provided)
• May be required to be a certified forklift trainer
• Active participation in operational improvement activities
• Willing to cross train or transfer to other departments as needed
• Other task as needed and flexibility is key
• Willing to work overtime as needed. This may include weekends
Qualifications:
• Have a sincere desire to work and be able to work independently or with a team to complete tasks in a timely manner
• 2+ years relevant, steady work history is preferred, manufacturing a plus
• Safely and effectively operate a forklift (training provided)
• Lift 50 + pounds frequently throughout the shift
• Prior inventory control experience a plus
• Understand and follow procedures/practices
• Be flexible and able to react quickly to changing situations
• Able to learn and effectively apply all requirements established by quality assurance
• Good basic math skills
• Good reading comprehension to follow work orders
• Able to speak/read/write English proficiently
• Legible handwriting/printing
• Ability to balance multiple tasks/priorities
