Job Type: Contract – 6 months to start (extendable)
Pay Rate:  TBD based on experience

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Tool Designer to join our client’s team. You would be responsible for designing and developing tooling solutions for manufacturing high-performance composite material components. This role involves working closely with engineers, production teams, and clients to create efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality tooling solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
·    Design and develop tooling, including molds and routing jigs for composite parts manufacturing.
·    Utilize CAD software 3DEXPERIENCE to create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings.
·    Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to optimize tool designs for production efficiency and quality.
·    Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes for tooling.
·    Work with CNC programmers and machinists to facilitate tool fabrication.
·    Create and maintain detailed documentation, including BOMs, technical drawings, and specifications.
·    Troubleshoot design and production issues related to tooling.
·    Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices in manufacturing.
·    Support continuous improvement initiatives and stay updated with advancements in tooling technologies.

Qualifications & Skills:
·    Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
·    3+ years of experience in tooling design.
·    Proficiency in CAD software such as 3DEXPERIENCE, CATIA, or SolidWorks.
·    Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and industry standards.
·    Experience with GD&T, technical drawings, and tolerances.
·    Knowledge of CNC machining.
·    Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
·    Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
·    Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
·    Experience in aerospace, automotive, or marine industries.
·    Hands-on experience with manufacturing processes such as machining.
·    Knowledge of PLM.
