Description:Maintenance Technician 

Location: Carson, CA    
Term: Contract position – 5 months (extendable) 
Shift: Monday to Friday – First Shift    
Pay Rate: $18 – $22 per hour (based on experience)  

This is an ITAR compliant facility; the candidates must be a US Citizen or a Permanent resident of US

Job Summary: 
•    This position requires performance of routine and repetitive facility maintenance operations utilizing pneumatic and basic hand tools, along with power tools as required
•    Ensures proper operation of plant infrastructure and manufacturing equipment
•    Works in a team environment, participating in continuous improvement activities

Responsibilities: 
•    Performs the installation, repair and maintenance of all shop machinery and mechanical equipment
•    Removes, repairs and replaces broken or worn out parts for machinery and equipment
•    Uses forklifts in performing simple tasks such as removing trash bins from facility
•    Makes necessary plumbing installations and repairs on water coolers, toilets, sinks, urinals, gas and water lines, sewer drains, etc, where conformance to state plumbing and heating codes are not required
•    Performs preventative maintenance on various machines and equipment
•    Assists in documentation and controls of facility hazardous materials
•    Perform necessary housekeeping duties in order to maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment

Qualifications:
•    High School Diploma or experience/knowledge as determined by management and a minimum of 5 years working experience in a production environment or equivalent business environment
•    Must have plumbing / electrical experience
•    Must have computer skills
•    Ability to follow verbal and written directions, fill out paperwork and communicate verbally.
•    Ability to read shop documents and detailed blueprints
•    Knowledge of calipers and micrometers to measure material to exact blueprint dimensions using decimals and fractions
•    Creative in the selection of proper tools, fixtures and methods for the operation or application
•    Must have forklift operator certification Knowledge and experience working with a variety of chemicals and have an understanding of the proper methods of use and disposal of such chemicals
•    Position involves walking throughout facility
•    Sit for prolonged periods of time
•    Ability to lift 25 pounds
