Description:Product Design Lead
            
Location: Peterborough, ON
Term: Permanent Position
Pay Range: $69K-$104K (based on experience)
Shift: Monday-Friday; 37 hours per week

Job Summary:
We are currently recruiting Product Design Leads to join our Engineering team as the technical design authority for the development of new products in a variety of domains and environments. This individual will work in concert with the Project and Program Managers to ensure the successful design and development of the products on time and on quality.

Responsibilities/Duties:
· Support Project and Program Managers in the definition of development logic, schedules, KPIs and metrics
· Be the owner of the high level product architecture in terms of architecture, design and verification activities within the context of formal development processes per ARP4754A, DO254 and DO178
· Evaluate, define and drive design options based on the optimization of existing assets, costs, schedules and risks
· Ensure the correctness and completeness of the design as it pertains to the customer and industry requirements
· Review and approve technical data throughout the product life cycle
· Other duties as required

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering (or equivalent)
• Minimum 7 years of experience working in product design environment in either Systems, Hardware or Software with a high level of capabilities in cross-functional aspects
• Knowledge and understanding of key design drivers for aerospace products and solutions including architecture trade offs, safety and security
• Proven success working in dynamic team environment with multiple stakeholders
Additional Considerations:
• As the product design lead, there is an expected component of the job that will involve guiding and mentoring of technical staff
