Description:Production Quality Engineering Specialist

Location: Ajax, ON (on-site)
Term: Contract position; 12 months (extendable)
Shift: Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week
Pay Rate: $30 per hour (based on experience)  

Job Summary: 

  • Perform Root Cause / Corrective Action (RCCA) in response to internal non-conformances and customer complaints & escapes
  • Non-conformance analysis to support the reduction of non-conformances, rework, and scrap
  • Coach / train hourly and staff personnel on Root Cause / Corrective Action (RCCA) and problem solving as part of Site Quality Improvement / Quick Response Quality Control (QRQC) initiatives
  • Conduct product / process / workstation audits
  • Support 3rd party / Customer audits
  • Provide support to Operations
  • To reduce non-conformances, scrap & rework to reduce lead time, Improve On Time Delivery, Reduce cost
  • Support the One Safran Model, QRQC, 5S, TPM & Tool Life Mgmt
  • Support Continuous Improvement. PFMEA participation,
  • Support Industrialization Process – DVI / FAI planning
  • Perform timely execution of QA Review and execute Add Info on NCR’s raised in QIS
  • Experience: 6+ years experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent professional experience
  • Requires in-depth knowledge and experience
  • Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective using existing solutions
  • Works independently; receives minimal guidance
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience
  • Represents the level at which career may stabilize for many years or even until retirement

Responsibilities: 

  • Performs Analysis and tests
  • Develops and recommends procedures and methods and prepares manufacturing process sheets, technical documents and reports
  • Performs technical evaluations of events to determine root causes; recommends corrective action
  • Uses schematics, diagrams, technical drawings, specifications, written and verbal descriptions or defined plans to perform testing and troubleshooting on electronic or mechanical components, equipment or systems

Qualifications:
• Mechanical engineering / Assembly / Machining / Manufacturing Engineering background with three years of experience
• Working knowledge of GD&T and assembly/machining methods and including inspection techniques
• Ability to understand CNC / CMM programs and error-proofing methods
• Excellent problem solving skills / aptitude
• Able to work in MS Office 2000 environment
• Familiar with QIS
• Solid interpersonal skills
