Can-Tech Services is looking for a Product Design Engineer for one of our reputable Manufacturing clients in the Vaughan, area.

The position is a Full-Time and Permanent Position directly with the client.

The rate of pay is $70,000-$100,000 annually.

Shift: Day shifts.

Formal Training or Qualifications:

• Must have an Engineering Degree (Mechanical, Applied Science)
• Professional experience (5+ years) in sheet metal and plastic product design.
• Strong technical knowledge, particularly in the areas of automotive HVAC systems preferred.
• Working knowledge of Autodesk inventor and/or other 3D modeling software.
• Ability to read Blueprints and GD&T experience.
• Prioritizes tasks to take action, works with partial responsibility and minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Outstanding leadership and organizational skills.
• Sound understanding of ISO 9001 (quality), ISO 14001 (environment), lead manufacturing environment.
• P.Eng designation would be an asset.

Function Specific Qualifications:

• Ability to work independently and draw from experience in all aspects of the job assigned.
• Design product to company’s manufacturing process capability and repeatability.
• Work closely with the Project management team to support new product launches, engineering changes implementation, and product/process continuous improvement initiatives and related activities.
• Participate and support APQP activities.
• Develop and maintain DFMEA and design process documentation.
• Provide quote direction for new business, new materials, and processes as required.
• Review part designs and provide feasibility input for ease of manufacturing and cost reduction.
• Support manufacturing and production for fixture/jigs/gauges designs to ensure they are built to meet customer/standards requirements.
