Can-Tech Services has been in business for over 40 years, and boasts a diverse and experienced team of recruiters. Our client, a leader in the automotive industry, is looking for an Assembly Department Lead Hand for permanent employment in Concord.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for scheduling operators to the lines for the shift.
- Responsible for ordering operator supplies.
- Meets with previous/next shift to discuss operating issues.
- Responsible for housekeeping.
- Responsible for Start of shift procedures.
- Responsible for First-Offs.
- Responsible for issuance of work orders for maintenance/repair of facilities.
- Responsible for current job aids.
- Work in a safe manner at all times.
- Support and encourage KAIZEN activities.
- Solicit GEAR activities from staff to meet corporate goals.
- Conduct employee performance reviews for department personnel minimum annually.
- Submits training needs to HR as determined from departmental needs and employee evaluations.
- Adopt and practice Kaizen Principles and Concepts.
- Participate in Kaizen and GEAR activities.
- Follow all general procedures where applicable as indicated in the General Procedures section of the Level III Procedure manual.
- Follow all Departmental General Procedures as well as procedures for this position as indicated in the level III Procedure manual.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Work in compliance and conform to IATF16949 and ISO14001 standards.
- Will ensure that all individuals within their department work in compliance and conform to IATF16949 and ISO14001.
Basic Requirements:
- Minimum 2 Experience in assembly work:
- Experience operating an assembly line
- Good knowledge of Government legislation in the areas of Health and Safety
- Familiar with SAP system in auto manufacturing environment would be an asset.
- Familiar with IATF16949, ISO14001 requirements
- Ability to successfully interact with all levels of employees in a multicultural environment.
- Ability to read, write and speak English
Desirables:
- Previous automotive assembly experience
