Configuration Management Specialist – Ajax, ON

Location: Ajax, ON

Term: Contract position – 12 months (extendable)

Shift: Monday to Friday – 37 hours per week

Pay Rate: $30 – $37 per hour (based on experience)

Job Summary:
•Configuration Management is a centralized activity that supports internal and external customers and suppliers as required by providing the same level of procedural configuration execution for all projects (and morecritically, all programs) through their lifecycle, ensuring that data released, transmitted or exported are done so in accordance with customer, regulatory and company procedures
•Responsible for several components of a project or a complex process
•Contributes to their team or department by applying their knowledge of one or more functional areas
•Fully developed associate able to work with little direct guidance or direction from manager
•Has in depth knowledge of the discipline and role
•Responsible for creation and on-going maintenance of internal work instructions as well as data mining of information by use of ACE tools

Responsibilities:
•Interfaces with customer through customer web tools and ensures customernew or revised documentation is downloaded for release in PLM system. Release customer specification and route for review in company PLM system. Ensure that proper procedures are being followed during the releasing of engineering changes, additions, and deletions
•Post customer SDRL deliverables as needed and tracks the status of rejected items
•Working with Engineering, Supply Chain, Program Management, CMM, Product Support, Production and Quality
•You will be responsible to provide guidance to all levels of business regarding the proper methods for records control, export of technical data,engineering release to procedure, status accounting as well as verification and audit ensuring configuration and data control

Qualifications:
•Minimum of College level studies or the equivalent literacy development in addition to one year or more experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment, ideally in Configuration Management
•Aerospace experience preferred
•2-5 years'experience in a similar role preferred
•Strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication and organizational skills
•Demonstrated strong PC skills, SAP knowledge would be an asset
•Knowledge of tools such as Content Server, Documentum, Pilgrim, SmarTeam and Matrix10/SmarTeam/Catia is desirable
•Demonstrated problem-solving and organizational experience
•Understanding of ITAR, EAR and CCGD requirements
•Understanding of AS9100
•Knowledge of technical standards, standards and Configuration Management practices for document management is an asset
