Description:Purchasing Administrator   

Location: Carson, CA   
Term: Contract assignment – 6 months (extendable) 
Shift: Monday to Friday – 7 am to 4 pm or 8 am to 5 pm   
Pay Rate: $20 – $30 per hour (based on experience)  

Job Summary: 
•    The Purchasing Administrator supports buyers and managers by performing administrative functions that include entering, organizing, and coordinating data such that department records and MRP is kept current and accurate, required correspondence is sent to suppliers, supplier replies are gathered and organized, and missing data or documentation is obtained from supply base
•    The Purchasing Administrator is expected to fulfill low-level buyer responsibilities on an as-needed basis

Responsibilities: 
•    Obtain and verify responses for open Purchase Order (PO) reports and notify buyers of issues
•    Review and expedite production shortages in coordination with buyers
•    Coordinate PO schedule changes with suppliers/buyers
•    Obtain and file supplier PO Confirmations
•    Resolve receiving issues with receiving department
•    Scan all documents to on-base folders
•    Send correspondence to suppliers, and coordinate, organize, and summarize responses as necessary
•    Obtain missing documentation or information from suppliers
•    Run daily reports on Birst, ZAP and M3
•    Perform miscellaneous duties as required
•    Perform as back-up to Maintenance Repair & Operations (MRO) Buyer when necessary with direction from Manager
•    For simple repeat buys, monitor MRP system for PO proposals, and place timely, intelligent, well planned production PO’s that ensure timely delivery while meeting target inventory levels

Qualifications:
•    Education and/or Experience- Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university preferably in business or finance; or two to five years of purchasing and/or buyer experience preferably in aerospace or manufacturing
•    Bilingual Spanish & English both written and verbal
•    Must be willing to travel from Chihuahua Mx location to Carson California location as required (Training, Projects)
•    Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
•    Experience with large-company ERP systems such as M3, People Soft, Oracle or SAP, with ability to analyze requirements, react to demands, enter data in correct fields, and execute and manage purchase orders
•    Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Lotus Notes), with a strong requirement for Excel spreadsheet skills. Exposure to Spread Sheet Server, ZAP and Birst is preferred, but not required
•    Basic knowledge of commodities and commercial terms for placing purchase orders
•    Ability to navigate and proficiently use other IT reports, such as Zodiac Analytics Platform (ZAP) Dashboards
