Description:Accounts Payable Specialist  
    
Location: Mississauga, ON
Term: Permanent position 
Shift: Monday to Friday – 40 hours per week
Pay Rate: $55K – $63 K annually (based on experience)
   
Job Summary:
•   Seeking a highly motivated and experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team
•    The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, as well as experience managing vendor relationships and processing purchase orders, invoices, and expense reports
•    The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities:
•    Maintain vendor accounts while staying in compliance with company policies and procedures
•    Process requests and expense reports on a regular basis
•    Perform data entry associated with accounts payable
•    Review and reconcile invoice discrepancies
•    Address and respond to vendor inquiries
•    Maintain precise records of all incoming payments
•    Prepare and send invoices to clients
•    Assist the Controller with oversight of daily operation of the finance department
•    Serves as a backup for Accounts Receivable
•    Audit all receipts on a determined schedule to ensure accuracy in accounting
•    Generate and deliver reports to different departments as needed
•    Actively investigate and resolve irregularities in both incoming and outgoing payments
•    Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures
•    Support the development and maintenance of improved policy and procedure manual
•    Assist with carrying out ad-hoc financial projects and reports

Qualifications:
•    Bachelor’s degree is required
•    At least 3 years’ experience with accounts payable and receivable functions is required
•    Solid knowledge of basic accounting principles
•    Tech Savvy; skilled in MS Office, with a strong proficiency in Excel
•    3 years’ experience of ERP System (E.g., MIE Track Manufacturing ERP System) required
•    Strong time management and organizational skills
•    High degree of attention to detail
•    Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
•    Strong analytical skills
•    Strong communication skills and the ability to handle potentially challenging interactions with clients
•    A desire and ability to work collaboratively with others to accomplish goals
