Description:Maintenance Mechanic
Location: Liberty, MS
Term: Contract position; 4 months (extendable)
Shift: Monday to Friday; 40 hours per week
Pay Rate: TBD based on experience
Job Summary:
The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for supporting all maintenance and housekeeping activities related to the sustainment of the facility.
Responsibilities:
• Utilize hand tools, power tools & additional maintenance equipment including fork trucks and automobiles to maintain, repair and fabricate items throughout the grounds and facility.
• Perform housekeeping tasks related to a factory environment such as: trash removal, recycling, floor and carpet maintenance, painting, assembly of prefabricated items, and furniture moving.
• Support Industrial Engineers with 5S Initiatives.
• Support HR and Employee’s Club with company events.
• Open and close facility if required.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Basic: Incumbent is able to use their knowledge/skill with support by more experienced individuals.
• Advanced: Incumbent is able to independently use their knowledge/skill.
• Expert: Incumbent is able to train others on their knowledge/skill.
• Comfortable working outside in inclement weather conditions.
• Has the ability without restrictions to: climb ladders, stand for prolonged periods of time, lift up to 40lbs, crouch, shovel snow & cut grass.
• Must be able to work flexible hours.
Education and/or Experience
• High school diploma or GED.
• 1-3 years related experience and/or training: or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Examples:
• Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, and Purchasing or related field and 8+ years purchasing negotiation experience in a fast paced manufacturing sector such as Aerospace, Automotive, High tech, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Requires 5 years management or supervisory experience working with a team of 10+ members.
Knowledge/Skills
• Capable of assisting senior mechanics with carpentry, electrical and mechanical maintenance. -Advanced
• Knowledge of 5S workplace practices. – Advanced
Examples:
• Bilingual in English and French and/or English and Spanish – Preferred
• Must be an initiative taker – Expert
• Ability to work in a cross-functional/international team environment – Basic
• This position will be required to climb ladders, lift up to 40lbs, work in inclement weather environments, stand for prolonged periods of time, crouch/bend, shovel snow, and cut grass.
