Can-Tech Services is looking for a Robotic Technician for one of our reputable Automotive Manufacturing clients in the East Gwillimbury area.
Our client is a premier supplier of advanced suspension products and welded assemblies to the global automotive industry. Equipped with the latest technology in metal stamping (up to 2500 tonne), state-of-the-art robotic welding cells, and automated assembly lines, the 240,000 square foot facility is staffed by expert personnel to manufacture front and rear suspension control arms, links, stabilizer bars and various high value-add assemblies.
The position is a Full-Time and Permanent Position directly with the client.
The rate of pay is up to $37 per hour (depending on experience, shift premium will be included).
Shifts Available: Nights (10pm – 7.30am)

We are looking for a Robotic Technician who will be responsible for providing manufacturing departments with well maintained equipment, while ensuring quality and ability to meet production requirements. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform all maintenance and repair work in either plant or grounds.
- Ensure all weld quality specifications are met by continuously monitoring the weld processes on the equipment assigned.
- Troubleshoot all aspects of the weld process as required.
- Maintain spare parts and components inventory at appropriate levels. Inform the tool crib attendant of low levels or shortage of parts or components in stock.
- Maintain up to date documentation of all equipment. This includes documenting all changes and alterations made to all equipment.
- Solve maintenance related problems with minimum interruption to production.
- Actively participate in Preventative Maintenance Program and down time reduction process. This includes following the PMP schedule and completing PMP checklists.
- Prepare list of all problems encounter during the shift and other necessary reports.
- Document all work orders in the MVP system on a daily basis.
- Assist in training all new robotic technicians. This includes junior robotic technicians and apprentices where applicable.
- Participate in the development and implementation of latest technologies to improve productivity and/or quality.
- Participate in all maintenance related training in order to upgrade skills and knowledge to meet changing technologies customer, government and health and safety requirements.
- Make recommendations to improve equipment efficiency and cost reduction. This includes manufacturing, repairs and installations of parts, components, services and equipment.
- Advise Maintenance Manager of any potential problems and offer solutions to correct it.
- Actively participate in preparation of safety and operation procedures.
Skill Set
- Completion of post-secondary education in welding and/or a robotics related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Robotic Technician.
- Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems and tools.
- Experience with mechanical systems.
- Experience in MIG, TIG, and stick welding.
- Good knowledge of manufacturing equipment and processes.
- Good knowledge of basic electrical systems.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent problem solving ability.
